First edition and one of 510 numbered copies, signed by the author and the ten contributing artists. - 55, (1 colophon pages) + 10 original full page wood block prints, each signed and identically numbered by the artists. Text handset in Perpetua type and printed on handmade kyokushi or sometimes called Japanese vellum made and watermarked expressly for this edition by Nakajo Sampei at Iwamoto, Imadate Town. The blocks for the prints have been destroyed after producing this limited edition of 510 copies, 475 of which are for sale. This being number 215. - The specially reinforced binding in tri-tone linen was done at the Okamoto Bindery, Tokyo. Housed in the original wooden slipcase of Japanese cedar with the Japanese title burned into the wood of the front panel. - A slight water spot at the front cover and spine of the binding and slight traces of use to the slipcase, else a very fine copy of this outstanding book. - (19315) - CHF 5'000 |
